How to treat your armpits

This post is sponsored by Milk and Honey but all reviews are my own.

Listen our armpits are just as important as exfoliating our face. Show them armpits some love! I started paying more attention to my armpits when I noticed I kept receiving ingrown hairs or weird bumps under my arm that was so painful and ugly. Whenever I would switch deodorants my skin would become irritated due to the harsh chemicals and sweat building up beneath my skin. Don't nobody got time for me trying to maintain my facial skin care and then dealing with armpit outrage it's just too much!  My armpits make me feel self-conscious. I rarely like to raise my arms if I have a sleeveless shirt on or if I’m out taking photos, or even asking questions at a conference. I automatically think shoot! my dark spots are showing with tons of deodorant smacked on top! Not the cutest scenery.

Why you should use Natural Deodorant

I’m in the process of switching all of my products to organic from skin care to deodorants. I’m becoming more aware of what I put into my body. So I decided to throw out my secret deodorant for Milk and Honey Regular Strength Plant-Based organic deodorant.  After applying to my armpits I used a dab to test out how my skin would react to the deodorant and if there would be an odor. Wait I forgot to add this Milk and Honey deodorant have lavender tea tree oil added which gives a clean smell that lingers. I didn't have to reapply my deodorant 50,000 times even on a hot day. Natural deodorants don't block any pores which allows your skin to breathe while reducing the chances of developing a bad odor. It’s okay to sweat! You want to sweat so you can release those toxins. What you should be worried about is the odor that's being produced that is coming in contact with the bacteria on your skin. Sweat doesn't have a bad odor its a mixture of salt and water.

Conventional deodorants smell so good! Listen I love a good smelling deodorant because it makes you feel super clean inside and out. Those conventional deodorants clog your pores to prevent you from sweating which isn't great! The chemicals used in the products can cause much harm to the body. For my guys no more worrying about those yellow stains under your white T’s. OH MY GOD I feel ya pain no matter how many times you wash the t-shirt it start to look dingy. You can save some money now if you switch to all natural plant-based deodorant hahaha. You will be able to receive a detox naturally. Milk and Honey regular strength deodorant is on the pricey side retailing at $20 and with my code Teeara20 you will receive 20% off. I will definitely have to save my coins for this 5$ per month to make sure I purchase when I run out. This flight attendant budget real tight lol.

Importance of Exfoliating your armpits:

I discovered the combo of apple cider vinegar and coconut oil mixed together which help prevent bacteria and clogging of the pores. Also, reducing the level of dark spots while nourishing the skin

Ingredients to help exfoliate your armpits

  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and coconut oil

  • Clean armpits with warm water and antibacterial soap/organic soap

  • Place a hot rag in the microwave (that's how I heat mine lol) for 1:30 seconds to open pores soften the hairs before shaving while hydrating the skin

  • Begin the exfoliating process by applying the mixture under your armpits and allow to sit for 20-25 minutes. This allows your armpits to receive extra attention while removing those dead skin cells and avoiding ingrown hairs before smacking a razor against those armpits.

  • Repeat this process 2-3 times a week to help treat those armpits

This worked for me but may not work for you because we have different body chemistries. All natural deodorants are different due to the brand and ingredients. Take some time out to find what works best for your armpits. How often do you include this in your daily self care activities?
